Terms of use

Short, readable, and written for humans.

Effective July 13, 2026 · These terms cover the AppLanes macOS app

1. What AppLanes is (and isn’t)

AppLanes is a macOS utility by Trifecta Labs that routes each app’s network traffic through your existing VPN, directly, or blocks it. It is not a VPN service — it does not provide, operate, or resell VPN connectivity, and it does not by itself make you anonymous or private online. Your privacy on the network depends on your VPN provider and your configuration.

2. License

The app is licensed, not sold, under Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), supplemented by these terms. You may use it on Macs you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. If these terms conflict with Apple’s EULA, Apple’s EULA controls for App Store matters.

3. Subscriptions

AppLanes is an auto-renewing subscription ($2.99/month or $19.99/year, with a 3-day free trial) purchased through the Mac App Store. Billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are handled entirely by Apple under Apple’s terms — we cannot process refunds ourselves.

4. Privacy

AppLanes has no accounts and collects no data. How the app handles your traffic — locally, without logging or decryption — is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

5. Acceptable use

You are responsible for how you route your traffic — including complying with applicable law, your VPN provider’s terms, and your employer’s or network administrator’s policies. Don’t use AppLanes to circumvent security controls you are not authorized to change, and don’t use it for any unlawful purpose.

6. No guarantees about routing

The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Network behavior depends on macOS, your VPN, other software, and your configuration; we do not guarantee that traffic will always route, block, or fail over as intended, or that no traffic will ever bypass a rule. If misrouted traffic could cause you serious harm, verify your setup independently (for example, by checking your visible IP address) before relying on it.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trifecta Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or privacy arising from use of the app, and our total liability for all claims is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived by law.

8. Termination

You can stop using AppLanes at any time by deleting it. We may discontinue the app, and Apple’s EULA governs license termination. Sections 6 and 7 survive termination.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
